On April 10th at Whisky a Go Go, guitarist and composer Yanming Lu will perform as the opening act for the iconic American punk rock band 45 Grave.

Yanming Lu (盧延明) is a Los Angeles–based guitarist and composer with over 15 years of experience in music production. Influenced by Japanese video game soundtracks and cinematic scoring, he blends expressive guitar performance with melodic storytelling and Eastern musical aesthetics, focusing on a distinctive fusion rock sound. He just released this third single”First light from the east”
He began his career in China as a music producer, collaborating with artists such as Esther Yu, and won first place in China’s National Arranger Competition.
After graduating from Musicians Institute, he has brought his original east and west fusion rock music to iconic Los Angeles stages, including Universal CityWalk and Whiskyagogo, continuing to shape his evolving artistic identity.
Yanming Lu is known for his distinctive East-meets-West musical vision, blending modern rock energy with traditional Eastern influences to create a cinematic and culturally fused sound. His work often integrates electric guitar with traditional Chinese instruments such as erhu, pipa, and Chinese percussion, resulting in a dynamic and immersive sonic palette.
His recently released single, “First Light from the East,” reflects this artistic direction, presenting a soundscape that combines melodic storytelling with both contemporary rock textures and Eastern tonal colors. The track marks a continuation of his exploration into cross-cultural composition and modern instrumental expression.
The upcoming performance will feature a full ensemble and will also include the live debut of his new original composition, “Jade Funk,” offering audiences a first-hand experience of his evolving musical identity.
