We’re honored to share that CCC composer Kevin Du will release his debut album Somewhere, a Butterfly Sings on May 10, 2026
Born from Kevin’s personal experiences with grief over the past few years, the album features original compositions and one arrangement performed by a remarkable 7-piece ensemble of close collaborators and peers, with a special appearance by his teacher Billy Drewes.
Blending jazz and classical influences with lyricism, emotional depth, and authenticity, the project reflects Kevin’s multicultural background and evolving artistic voice.

Kevin Du is a New York–based Chinese-American pianist, composer, and bandleader whose work reflects deep roots in both classical and jazz traditions. A graduate of Berklee College of Music with highest honors in Jazz Composition and Arranging, he is currently completing his Master’s degree at New York University, studying with leading figures in the New York jazz scene. He also leads his own trio, performing original music at venues throughout the city.
