The 1st Cue Battle｜活动回顾 | Event Recap

On November 23, 2025, the Chinese Composer Community (CCC) successfully hosted its first Cue Battle Creative Exchange Session. Designed for emerging Chinese composers, this event provided an open and professional platform for artistic exploration, technical exchange, and hands-on scoring practice.

The participating composers were:Dylan Lee, Enyi Mei, Junyan Liu, Kaiyu Wang, Ruocheng Li, Yijing Qiu, and Yuezhe Shao.Each participant created an original score for the assigned scene and presented their work during the session, engaging in discussion about their artistic and technical approaches

We were honored to have Grammy-nominated composer and UNC Chapel Hill professor Kerwin Young as our distinguished guest mentor. Professor Young provided thoughtful and detailed feedback for each participant, offering insights on narrative clarity, orchestration techniques, textural layering, emotional shaping, and overall dramatic effectiveness. His guidance greatly supported the participants’ artistic growth and professional development.

In addition to professional critique, the event also featured a peer-review session, where participants exchanged feedback and reflected on one another’s scoring approaches. This collaborative environment encouraged open dialogue, creative exploration, and mutual support, fostering a strong sense of community among emerging composers

The CCC remains committed to building a strong, collaborative ecosystem for Chinese composers worldwide. We strive to create opportunities for learning, artistic exchange, and professional connection within the film, game, and contemporary music communities.

2025 年 11 月 23 日，**Chinese Composer Community（CCC）**成功举办了首次 Cue Battle 创作交流会。本次活动旨在为华人青年作曲家搭建一个开放、专业、互相切磋的平台，通过实际片段配乐与现场讨论，促进创作思维与叙事表达的提升。

本次 Cue Battle 的参与作曲者包括：

Dylan Lee、Enyi Mei、Junyan Liu、Kaiyu Wang、Ruocheng Li、Yijing Qiu、Yuezhe Shao。

所有成员皆为活动准备了原创配乐作品，并在现场彼此分享、展示，并交流创作思路。

我们非常荣幸邀请到 格莱美奖提名、北卡罗来纳大学教堂山分校（UNC Chapel Hill）教授 Kerwin Young 担任本次活动的特邀点评嘉宾。

Kerwin 教授对每位参与者都进行了深入且专业的指导，从音乐叙事、配器技法、层次结构到情绪处理等多个维度提出了启发性的建议，帮助年轻作曲者更清晰地认识作品的优势与未来提升方向。

除了专家点评，本次活动还特别加入了成员间互评环节。作曲者们在聆听彼此的作品后，就画面理解、音乐策略与创作选择展开积极讨论。

这种开放的交流形式促成了一个专业、包容、互相支持的学习氛围，也让参与者在对比与反思中获得新的灵感。

CCC 一直致力于为华人作曲者搭建学习、交流与合作的平台，让更多热爱影视配乐、游戏音乐与当代创作的青年能够聚在一起共同成长。
